GENERAL INFO
- Long ago, TreeClan was founded by a loner named Torik, who would later adopt the name of Treestar.
- Their territory is mostly forest, with some ponds and marshes but mainly dense woodland.
- They generally hunt mice, squirrels, birds, and frogs.
- They are used to hunting among dense woods and climbing trees, and place more emphasis on hunting skill than fighting, as they face less threats from other cats than RockClan.
- Being farther from Twoleg influence, they are typically a little more fearful of them.
CULTURAL STRUCTURE
- On the whole, TreeClan has a stronger influence on blood family and relations between kin. Although 'the Clan is your family' as a general rule is still definitely enforced/encouraged, it is not uncommon to see kin mentoring kin or leaders choosing their deputies based on blood relation.
- They generally have a stricter, more traditional naming system, especially when it comes to prefixes.
- They are usually more accepting of rogues and loners - being farther from human life, they encounter cats like themselves more often than not, rather than the rough city cats.
- TreeClan is often more used to verbal commands and speaking when it comes to patrols/battle commands; nonverbal signals are a little rarer. They are, however, generally more withdrawn when it comes to Gatherings, as it is taught within the Clan to keep one's mouth shut to keep the Clan's honor.
-TreeClan places much more emphasis on proving just how useful you can be to the Clan, and how every cat can be important through this aspect of demonstrating exactly how.
HIERARCHY AND CLAN RANKS
-Apprentices more often than not do not receive their warrior names simply from completing their training. Instead, they must wait until an act that 'proves' their worth sometime after they have been training around six moons. This can be as simple as a good hunt, or as difficult as fending off a fox from wandering kits. Because of this, TreeClan apprentices are generally made warriors a little later than RockClanners, on the whole - though they can also be made warriors at less than twelve moons exactly, provided they do something that really proves themselves at around or past the five moons of training mark (as they are typically less strict with the amount of training time needed.)
-Roles of authority are to be respected; they usually hold higher ideals regarding respecting the word of authority figures without much question or debate.
-Elders are less expected to remain active in any sort of Clan affairs once they retire, with the Clan usually believing that they have 'earned the rest' and do not need to worry themselves over current issues any longer. Elders in TreeClan do not attend Gatherings as often as in RockClan.
-In the case of exile, a cat will be given a new, negative suffix in a renaming ceremony meant to shame them just prior to their banishment.
