RockClan Camp

a lower patch of ground nearly completely sheltered by hills and cliffside, there are a few dens here that make for excellent homes for the Clan's elders, medicine cat, and kitbearers. the nursery is the most protected, a cave carved deep into the cliff on one side of camp, with a narrow entrance partially hidden by tall ferns. the clan medicine cat resides in a cave farther down the same cliffside, though far less hidden - but still providing protection from the elements. this cave splits off into another smaller one deeper in, and the clan elders sleep here, sheltered at least partially by the cliffside above and close to the medicine cat in case of emergency. the rest of the clan sleeps out under the stars, where patches of foliage provide enough cover to rest comfortably. the river cuts through here, though rockclanners hardly seem to notice its noise. a fallen log makes for easy crossing across the water for those cats too young or too old to brave its depths, and this fallen log serves as the Clan's meeting place.

The Hills

in the northern portion of RockClan's territory, and taking up the majority of its land, the hilly terrain makes for excellent homes for rabbits and hares. the sun beats down especially hard here without many trees to block it, but the cats here do not seem to notice. RockClanners can often be seen chasing these animals down even in the hottest parts of the day, and their stamina allows them to keep up with their prey for a very long time. some cats even like to lounge upon the few and scattered boulders adorning the hilly land, as the sun heats up the stones' surfaces and makes for a warm and pleasant place to nap.

River Crossing

farther past the camp, and nearing the TreeClan border, there is a portion of river especially suited for both learning to swim and for hunting. here, natural stepping stones and a slightly gentler current make for easier passage back and forth across the water, and cats can easily move to whichever side of the river they need to be to keep their shadow off of the water. the stepping stones also make for a great place to teach cats to swim, as the shallower water around them means that a cat will have the stones beneath them to fall back on should anything go wrong.

Claw Stone

in the southernmost part of RockClan's territory, there is a large and distinct boulder situated in a smooth dip in the ground. the boulder's surface is scored by many a claw mark, and this is where RockClan cats often come to sharpen their claws. the lower, flatter ground around the stone also makes for an ideal place to practice battle training, when one is not training to fight in the water.

Lookout Cliff

somewhat nearby to the border, an especially steep hill becomes a very abrupt and sharp cliffside which RockClanners refer to as Lookout Cliff. because of its height, RockClan cats can use the vantage point here to look out over the Clan's territory or the river, and perhaps even to keep an eye on the TreeClan border. while some cats might occasionally come here to think, or else visit it with another cat for a night of stargazing, there isn't much more of a practical use for the cliff besides using it to look over the territory - though some cats do claim that the occasional mouse or shrew can be found among the cracks at the top of the cliff where the grass gives way to stone.
