GENERAL INFO
-The stray cats who live among the Twolegs and who struggle to survive in such a harsh environment call themselves city cats; those who do live with the Twolegs tend to simply be referred to as kittypets.
-The city is less busy near the outskirts, where most live, but deeper in - where some often have to wander in order to try and find food - there are many more monsters and Twolegs than is often safe to be around.
-They generally hunt rats, mice, shrews, frogs and squirrels, though a city cat also likely might dig through Twoleg trash from time to time for a meal when times are especially tough.
-As life in the city is extremely harsh, most city cats are as well, and they generally are hostile or at the very least uncaring towards their Clan neighbors.
CULTURAL STRUCTURE
-The strongest emphasis in city cat 'society' rests on intimidation and power. Whichever cat can be most commanding is, generally, the leader or one of the leaders, although they have the weakest structure of any of the four groups, with leaders changing much more frequently.
-The group structure is based solely on which cat can command others and get them to follow them - and their group consists of those willing to follow them. The leader (or leaders - sometimes there may be as many as 3 to the group) does what they can to provide shelter, safety, and food to their followers, while their followers provide muscle for the group in general and follow the leaders' orders.
-They have almost no naming system at all. Generally, their names are only one word, but whether that word is an animal name, something found in nature, or a Twoleg word is up to chance, generally.
-They're often hostile to RockClan - or, at least, RockClan is hostile towards them, and this tension often leads to conflicts. City cats often don't tend to pay as much attention to borders or the code either (as they have none themselves) and are known to steal prey from RockClan - after all, they don't have to follow the warrior code.
HIERARCHY AND RANKS
-Every cat's ranking is based upon the respect they command from other cats, and also largely upon intimidation. Those cats directly related to those in leading or superior roles are also high-ranking, even if they themselves are frailer or weaker than their kin. For the most part, there are no formal ranks besides which cat holds more power and which holds less.
-Leaders - and there may be 1-3 in a group - are based upon this system of power and respect.
-There are no former healer ranks, and most cats do not know of herbs, especially since there are not many herbs to be found in the city limits.
City cats may also attend the Gathering held every full moon at the lake, as it is open to all feline visitors.
